Newborn Louis

So Louis wasn’t quite the new newborn, but his mommy didn’t want to miss out on his photos and scheduled when he was about 7 weeks old. Louis was very awake for most of the shoot, but finally that little portable heater and music from his mom’s ipad put him right to sleep. I loved his little giraffe hat with his trendy jeans and navy sweater…so CUTE! I also had purchased a couple sets of knit hat and diaper covers from famous etsy.com. I recommend etsy for expecting mothers, but be careful it’s addicting! (like pinterest). Best wishes to the Mezzanotte family. Enjoy!

Samantha & Steve

Who doesn’t love a good story? This one began 20+ years ago back at Bradley Elementary School in Derby, CT. Back then, Samantha, Steve, and yes… even Michael were classmates. Seriously… those were the golden years. None of us had a care in the world. When Steve suggested that we head back to the school for their engagement session… we were pumped!!!! Talk about making an engagement session personal. Rather than go into how the two re-connected, etc. – check out the article that the New Haven Register published. A very special thanks to Principal Christine DiGrazia for opening the school’s doors and being such a gracious host.

So let’s get to the images shall we? Congratulations Sam and Steve. It was awesome spending the afternoon with the two of you and we are looking forward to seeing you soon!

Stella Turns One

Stella is another little one I have been taking photos of since she was a newborn. She always has the most adorable outfits and accessories. This time she did not want to let go of her pale pink rabbit. It was so cute how determined she was putting the rabbit in the bike’s basket without tumbling over. Stella has developed quite the personality and you can’t help but constantly smile. Her mommy (who I’ve known since I was a teenager) stood behind me as the entertainment. I was pretty excited to use one of my new backdrops I had worked so hard on between the painting and gluing. Love the way it turned out and how it went so well with the chair I can’t wait to see this little princess again…and we recently learned that Stella is going to be a big sister! Congrats Megan and Mike, very excited to meet the new addition this summer! Enjoy!

Matteo Turns One

I have been taking Matteo’s pictures since he was a newborn and it’s nuts seeing how much they change when you look back. Now with a full head of curly hair and a limited attention span, we roamed in and outside the studio for his pictures. His mom always has him in the coolest boy outfits and designer jeans…I mean his leather jacket is so bada@#. Flipping through the pictures and seeing his different facial expressions puts a smile on my face. Can’t wait to see how his next photo shoot turns out! Happy 1st Birthday Matteo!

Newborn Maximilian

So here we have another newborn Max! This little guy came into the studio nice and sleepy, since he kept his poor parents up all night. He barely fussed during his shoot, but I did have a space heater blowing pretty much on top of him that helped him doze off. Thumbs up to the Walmart deal. Max’s parents brought along some adorable hat and diaper cover sets from Etsy.com and I got to use my new set from Itty Bitty Bee Crochet while he relaxed on top of a wine barrel. We got the barrels to the studio just in time for his shoot…Cabernet Savignon free. Anyway, congrats to the Jen and Dave and best wishes with your handsome little guy. Enjoy!

Newborn Max

December was a VERY exciting month for our family! My handsome little nephew Max was born just a few days before Christmas. We were making jokes that he was going to have the same birthday as my husband – who’s just so happens to fall ON Christmas Day (I call him Jesus). Anyways, when Max was 9 days old I went to my brother and sister-in-laws house with the gear and props for his newborn pictures. Thank god my brother had the wood stove blasting which helped put Max to sleep. Their dog Roxy was dying to be my assistant… or really just wanted to get in the pics for a “Max Attack.” I love Roxy, she has the greatest personality – so she had to make an appearance in this post.

Best wishes to Mike and Danielle. Love you guys and I am looking forward to watching Max grow up!

Anna & Diego

Remember these two? If not, check out their engagement session that we did in Washington State back in April. That was so much fun! Here they are, gracing the blog again – but this time they both traveled all the way from Redmond, WA to Buffalo, NY. What’s even crazier is that much of Diego’s family traveled all the way from Bolivia! Can you imagine getting all those frequent flier miles?! Anyways… Anna and I (Marcie) used to work together for a watch magazine in Fairfield, CT. That is until she re-connected with Diego (they had attended college together). Long story short, these two fell in love and Anna moved out to Redmond where Diego works for Microsoft. But it’s ok because where they live is absolutely beautiful and we can visit them and their three kitties anytime!

Onto their wedding day! Rich’s Atrium is a pretty unique place for a wedding. Industrial on the outside, but the inside is decorated as the outside. If that doesn’t make sense – it will when you see the images. With light diminishing quickly, we set them up for a first look on a cute little bridge that spanned across the indoor river. Outside of that, Anna designed all the details herself (being that she is an artist) and they featured perfect colors for the fall. And her dress! Seriously… she looked stunning. Some highlights of the night included two of the bridesmaids acting out Anna and Diego’s first entire instant message conversation (umm.. who saves those?!?), and their amazing sparkler first dance. Congratulations Anna and Diego! We miss you and hope to see you soon!!

Kristina & Todd

When we found out how this couple met and what they wanted to do for their engagement shoot… we were like kids in a candy store. First off, we love live music. Together we have been to countless shows, and have even shot quite a few together (check out our other site stalure.com for those photos). So far we have not been able to mix the two together. That is… until we met Kristina and Todd. We are so excited to share this one and we are going to do things a little differently this time around. Rather than talk about Kristina & Todd, we are going to start this off with a story…

Once upon a time there was a boy named Todd. Todd was a guitarist in the band Wired, playing a show at the Red Door in Waterbury, CT. Sad but true…. Todd was single. Little did he know that a smokin’ hot brunette named Kristina (who was also single) was in attendance. Kristina liked Todd. Todd liked Kristina. Kristina and Todd fell in love.

So as you can tell… we are horrible at writing short stories. Do we at least get a “C” for effort? Regardless, it gives you enough to understand the story behind photos below. Todd get’s all the credit for this one! Sit back, relax and let this story come true in front of you. Congratulations guys! We had a blast and cannot wait for the wedding!!!
